It's one year on from this video:
I want to organise a Freerunning competition at the Costessey Parkour park. I would like to: Get the South Norfolk County Counsel involved, get a DJto play music and someone to host, have two rounds with 15+ competitors, winner gets Norm*l goodies, Parkour Alliance teach between rounds and after the competition and finally we raise some money for a charity.
Who is up for helping in any way, be it participating in the contest, helping me with organising or just having your say?

Mez you could very help, since you have access to the Pk emails, you could ask the South Norfolk Council how they could help and what they think of the idea. It would basically be a performance but in comp' form. If they could pay pka to teach and let us use there electricity that would be awesome.
Might be worth asking them now and then coming up with a more in depth plan after seeing what they've said? what cha think?

Maybe I can come down to Films? Maybe corporate sponsorship for extra prizes (we can offer them promo through the films?)
Also... I forgot Tim destroyed Man Zoo in feiyues! lol

Sam if you want to arrange the filming and sponsorship that would be awesome, if not I'm just going to post people around the park with cameras and throw an edit together from that.

Okay so I've read this and the Facebook page and I do think that it's a really good idea. Couple of questions though... 1) How will the competition work? - Would there be something like a 30sec heat each? - Would there be several rounds, like a tournament? 2) What are people wearing? - PKA Shirts? - Norm*l Shirts? 3) I think another good judge would be Lukman's mother. What d'ya guys think? 4) Not really a question but who remembers back in the day when everyone hated the idea of Parkour being a competition.  |

Anyway, this isn't about parkour. It's about how great I am.
Speaking of pedantry... We should get Wingfield to write an elaborate opening ceremony.
3) Should that happen, all the judges would gang up on Robinson, because it's funny. I shall ask her what she thinks also.
2) We should be able to rep whoever we choose. If anybody wants to show off sponsorship ties, go for it.
I would like to know when this is likely to happen. And whether I would be allowed to take part.

Lukman's mum can be a judge if Lukman things she will understand the difficulty of the moves ect...

Cool. I will send out a few email then and try to get something together. If we get corporate sponsors though, their logos will have to be on the films and maybe have a banner up at the park. It may be worth me phoning or skypeing a couple of you...cos there are slight complications in getting companies involved, and various different ways you could do it.

A further point. I just spoke to my Mum about the project and she says there is some council funding that could possibly for exactly this sort of thing. It might be worth Mez holding off the emails to the council for a short while, till i have these contacts, then maybe me and Mez could tackle it.
So, the council would be the sponsor.
That way, we could get some funding for the event itself and have some money to make the film all kinds of awesome.
What do you reckon?

You have taken it from fun to a lot of work... I'm up for it but I want this to actually happen. I don't want things to get over complicated and then no one bothering to go through with it. At this rate we wont be able to do the event untill next year.
How long will it take you to get your contacts?
